Cover bands are so cool again! Live music is a great space to take a break from the online world and live in the moment, although it’s sometimes hard to chat depending on how loud the band is.

I loved reading this. I'm a card-carrying Troop Beverly Hills alumna. I was a Girl Scout from 1st grade through my senior year of high school (no, I did not have the best time in high school LOL). Some of my fondest memories are selling Samoas outside the Pavillions on Santa Monica Blvd. I agree that it's not great that girls now rely on parents' networks but back in the day (the 90s) it was always the girl with the most powerful dad in the biggest office that sold the most cookies. One day spent in his office with an order sheet, walking around to all the cubicles, and she won the whole thing outright!

Oh, I believe that 100% about parents’ networks *always* being somewhat of a thing with cookie sales!

I was hoping I'd see this piece, and you didn't disappoint. A lot of great tips in here for what we all can implement to make this a more fulfilling experience for our girls. Thank you for writing this and sharing.

Great post.

Related rant on Girl Scout cookies. One group was set up outside of a Bakery I go to with my toddler daughter. I had $10 in my wallet (who carries cash these days?) and asked the girls selling the cookies, "What can I get with $10?". One replied: Nothing!!!. The parent quickly coached them into providing the correct information, although the single box of caramel delights was $8. Inflation is real.

Thanks, Billy! I am glad a parent stepped in to guide them and at least provide that math lesson.
